A solar-electric propulsion system for a 24–30 ft displacement monohull — boats like the Ranger 23 or Paceship 26 in the configurator’s reference fleet — sized to your hull’s real power–speed curve and supplied as one coherent system.
MODEL — below the FY25-proven envelope Our 1,000 NM sea trial was run on a 35 ft boat (SV Endurance, a Nicholson 35). Our propulsion model covers smaller displacement hulls and the physics is favourable at this size — less boat to move — but we have not yet sea-trial-proven the full system at this displacement. We size this kit from the model and label every number as modeled, not measured.
What carries over from the proven system
- The same energy-balance approach: a high-voltage solar bus feeding an isolatable, redundant propulsion bank on a central Victron Cerbo GX controller.
- The same low-speed operating doctrine — matching cruising speed to what solar can sustain in daylight.
- The same “graceful degradation” philosophy: paired charge controllers and isolatable battery banks so a single fault never strands the boat.
What we won’t claim
We won’t quote you the FY25 range and endurance figures as if they were measured on your boat — they were measured on a larger, heavier hull. Your configurator Design Brief gives modeled curves for your boat, clearly marked MODEL.
How it’s supplied
Kits are supplied and installed through a partner yard, never shipped as a self-install parcel. You keep your yard relationship; we de-risk the engineering.
